Going off of the aforementioned statement on acceptance of robots, it is more common for a person to be more inclined towards a dog than a robot companion. Their behaviour towards dogs is a lot more positive, with most stating that having emotions, a personality and showing attachment are a dog's most redeeming qualities as companions. Further development of robotic companions would most likely need these qualities implemented in order for a higher success rate in regard to human acceptance of the robot.
